Namco has announced it is to release the original Soul Calibur on Xbox LIVE Arcade, complete with a mass of leaderboards (every character and every mode), Arcade mode, Training mode and Survival mode. Local versus play will also be included, but sadly there’s no mention of being able to take battles online.

It also appears to be a minor victory for the Xbox 360, with Namco having only confirmed the title for release on Xbox LIVE Arcade and not the PS3’s PlayStation Store.

Also on the way from Namco is the space-based arcade shooter, Infinitum. Players are required to shoot down enemies and absorb their energy, making it possible to change the size, shape and capabilities of their ship. This one is confirmed for XBLA and PSN.

Both titles are scheduled for release in the summer.
