According to a source close to Videogames website IGN, the next instalment in the Oddworld franchise is not coming to Playstation 2 after all. Once Microsoft severed ties with the game and EA picked up the rights to publish, Stranger was destined for release on both Playstation 2 and Xbox. The source claims that development of the Playstation 2 version was simply too far behind that of the Xbox, and wouldn’t be finished until several months after the Xbox game was ready. If this claim turns out to be true it would be a big gloating point for Xbox owners, many still bitter over losing the exclusive franchise. More news as soon as we hear anything concrete.
