The Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee reboot announced last week will be a digital-only release, Just Add Water has confirmed.

JAW CEO Stewart Gilray tweeted the news last night, adding that Oddworld Inhabitants is to publish.

The Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee reboot replaces the previously announced ‘Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee HD’, an HD makeover of the original PSOne classic.

Oddworld Inhabitants announced last week that it had “decided to reboot [the game], not just [create] an HD update to the original PS1 title.

“This is a NEW game,” it continued. “It will be getting its first public showing LATER this year, with a release date of NEXT summer (2013).”

Formats for the game have yet to be announced.
