The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D has become the first Nintendo 3DS game to surpass 1 million sales.

In Nintendo’s first quarter, which ended June 30, the N64 remake managed to shift 1.08 million copies worldwide, with 270,000 sales in Japan and 810,000 in the rest of the world.

The only other games to sell over 1 million in the same period of time are Pokemon Black and White for DS and Mario Kart Wii, which sold 1.36 million and 1.22 million units respectively.

The sales certainly seem to reflect the critical response to the game. “We knew then that Miyamoto and co had made a classic, but it’s only now that we can see just how revolutionary Ocarina of Time actually was.” said Tom Orry in his Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D review. He awarded the game top marks with a 10/10.
