The Nuketown 2025 map has been returned to a public playlist after being unceremoniously removed after the end of the Double XP launch weekend.

The pre-order bonus map was found in the Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 playlist, but this was closed last night.

“Double XP weekend is official over,” Tweeted David Vondehaar. “That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don’t kill the messenger.”

This caused a mass outcry of Black Ops 2 players calling for the map to be reinstated to a public playlist, with Vondehaar stating on Twitter.

“Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 will be back for special events. You can always play it with your friends in Custom Games.”

The fact that almost no one plays Black Ops using custom games – you can’t earn XP – appeared to be lost on the Treyarch game design director.

However, player outcry proved too much to ignore and a new playlist featuring Nuketown 2025 – Chaos Moshpit – was introduced. In addition to Nuketown 2025 the new playlist includes Carrier, Cargo, Express, Hijacked, Slums and Standoff.

The downside of the new playlist is that players can no longer sit and play Nuketown 2025 all day, with other maps being in the rotation.
