Reuters received word from Sony officials that the company is using the expensive air travel, so they can get as many units into US stores as possible. The units are coming directly from manufacturing plants in China.

The unidentified Sony spokesperson commented that this has been going on “for some time.”

Shortages of PS2 units are being felt in this country as well, with many stores across the UK suffering from much depleted stock levels. There is no news on if Sony will do similar things to help many wanting UK children this Christmas.
