Nintendo’s Japanese website has revealed the platform holder is readying a new controller for the Wii. The Classic Controller Pro is scheduled for a summer release, although its purpose isn’t yet clear.

The new controller is based on the existing Classic Controller design, but adds some extra shoulder buttons, more space between the thumbsticks and new hand grips.

There’s currently no word on pricing or indeed if the controller will be released outside of Japan.
