After a year of constant leaks, the Nintendo Switch 2 has officially been announced. Coming almost eight years after the release of the original system, the handheld/console hybrid’s successor is finally coming.

Announced in an official trailer, the new console continues the same dockable tablet design as its 2017 predecessor. Armed with magnetic Joy-Con controllers, a larger screen and much improved specs, the Nintendo Switch 2 is the follow-up we’ve all been waiting for.

Nintendo Switch 2 confirmed

In the short two-minute trailer, the new Switch console is shown in full. With a revised kickstand, larger build and improved Joy-Con, the new console is a remarkably standard upgrade for a Nintendo console.
