The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is not heading to the Nintendo Switch after all, it seems.

Chatter on a Switch port of the 2011 action-adventure game heated up earlier this week, after comments from The Legend of Zelda maestro, Eiji Aonuma, suggested Ninty was working on bringing the game to the hybrid console.

Apparently, he teased the news during an appearance at a Zelda concert over the weekend, which people quickly shouted about on Twitter.

However, speaking to Eurogamer, a spokesperson for the Big N pretty much poured cold water on these reports: 'At this time we have no plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch,' reads the statement.

Nintendo has previously remastered a number of Zelda titles for 3DS and Wii U, including The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

Maybe they will get around to polishing up Skyward Sword in a year or two? Fingers crossed.
