Even though Microsoft has decided not to showcase their next console at the GDC in March, there is something to get excited about. Nintendo’s President, Satoru Iwata, will be at the show delivering a keynote speech on the current state of the videogames industry and look ahead to what could be the key developments in the coming years.

GDC director Jamil Moledina was understandably pleased at having such a big name speaker:

“Satoru Iwata is a global icon in the game industry, and we are honored to have him share his knowledge and experience.”

This years GDC takes place between March 7-11, with Iwata’s speech scheduled for March 10th at 10.30am. Microsoft will have some presence at the event, with J Allard speaking on March 9th.

We’ll bring you all the news from the event as it happens.
