Nintendo has announced new titles aimed squarely at pleasing hardcore Wii gamers.

Overnight Nintendo Boss Satoru Iwata took to the stage at the company’s 2008 Fall Press Conference, as reported by Kotaku, to announce Wii versions of classic NES boxing game Punch-Out!!, DS adventure game Another Code, a Dynasty Warriors game from Koei and finally Sin & Punishment 2, from Treasure, a sequel to the N64 on rails shooter.

Nintendo also announced its new series, called “Wii de Asobu Selection” (Play on Wii Selection), a collection of GameCube titles re-released on Wii. Pikmin will be one of these titles.

Nintendo has suffered criticism from hardcore fans for focusing more on casual titles than core titles in recent years. This was also the case at E3 in July when Nintendo showcased Wii Music and Wii Sports Resort.

There is no word on a European release date for any of the announced titles.
