Cartoon brawler Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has just received a surprise update adding items and voiceovers to the game.

The surprise update dropped last night, and adds a whole host of voice lines for each of the fan favourite characters. Even better, the voices are provided by the same actors of their TV counterparts. Voices on board include Tom Kenny as SpongeBob SquarePants, Billy West as Ren & Stimpy. There’s also Frank Welker as Garfield, Jim Cummings as Shredder and plenty more.

It’s not the only major addition in this new patch, which also adds items to the fray to make it feel a little closer to that classic Smash Bros-alike action. Elsewhere, the patch tweaks a few gameplay options, like increasing the default stock count to 4 & hiding invisible player’s indicators. You can check out the full patch notes attached to this Tweet here.

The update comes just in time as the game is one of this month’s offerings on PS Plus for the month of June. Meaning PlayStation Plus subscribers can try out Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl at no extra cost, alongside God of War and Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker from today.

In fact, it’s a good time all round for fans of making characters from different universes fight each other, with the similarly-themed Multiversus about to head into open beta next month. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl‘s new update is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
