A new Star Wars Battlefront game will launch holiday 2017 and promises to be bigger than ever, EA has announced.

“We’re thrilled to bring a new Star Wars Battlefront game to fans worldwide in 2017 holiday season,” EA CEO Andrew Wilson revealed during the publisher’s Q3 financials.

Wilson added: “Our next Star Wars Battlefront will be even bigger, taking players into more locations and allowing them to play with more heroes and characters across multiple Star Wars eras.

“There will be new ways to play, including an all new single-player campaign and much, much more that we are excited to share with our players in the months ahead.”

Wilson revealed that the game is a co-production between DICE, Motive and Criterion.

A note on the Battlefront website also confirmed that the Battlefront team has now “shifted its focus to creating the next great Star Wars game”.
