Ever since the launch of Marvel Rivals, players have been diving deep into the game’s proficiency system to gain exclusive rewards. This character-specific system provides a progression ladder that rewards effort with cosmetics such as sprays, KO animations, and the desired Lord icons which are unique avatars that indicate a hero’s mastery.

For many, earning the Lord rank is more than just bragging rights, it’s a symbol of their ability and dedication, redefining their in-game identity with a distinctive insignia visible in lobbies and matches. These symbols, which feature dynamic poses and a signature glow, have become a badge of honor in the game’s competitive scene, where players work tirelessly to establish their abilities.

The stakes are especially high for fan favorite characters such as Human Torch, who debuted in the Season 1.5 update. While his scorching skills have burnt the battlefield, his first Lord icon, a slightly slanted variation of his normal portrait, left several players disappointed.

Leaked Marvel Rivals March 6 update will add new Lord Icon for Human Torch

In the upcoming March 6 update, Marvel Rivals is adding a new Lord Icon for Human Torch proficiency. The current icon is just a snapshot of the character’s default portrait, which players have shown their disinterest towards.

The new Lord icon, however, is a snapshot of the character’s MVP animation like how other Lord icons are. It also adds a flaming glow to the outer frame as well. Since the new update is adding the Lord icon, it’s also bringing several changes to Human Torch abilities and nerfing some of the bugs that had made him overpowered in the current meta.

Several players have also suggested turning the newer Lord icon into a “super nova torch” rather than its default state. However, it’s still early to tell how the actual icon would look like since NetEase is yet to reveal the actual graphics.
