Medal of Honor Airborne will be the first game in the series to be released on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, but will also be released on the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC. Taking the role of Boyd Travers, Private First Class of the 82nd Airborne Division, you will engage in battles across Europe, each mission beginning behind enemy lines with a fully interactive airdrop.

Because of the non-linear nature of the opening airdrops, your ability to decide your own starting position will be a key factor in determining how each mission plays out. Use your time in the air to plan out your operation and pick your landing spot, then once on the ground quickly assess the situation and gather your senses.

At your disposal will be a wide variety of authentic, customizable weapons, each having distinct characteristics. Capt. Dale Dye, who has worked as the Military Technical Advisor for the last seven Medal of Honor games, is once again ensuring that the final product is as historically accurate and true to the WWII Airborne experience as possible.

Medal of Honor Airborne is a step in a new direction for the franchise. While integrating our state-of-the-art, next-gen technology into every aspect of the game, we are introducing innovations that will redefine the series and impact the genre as a whole,” explained Patrick Gilmore, VP and Executive Producer at EALA. “By fully controlling the airdrop from your very first step through landing, Medal of Honor Airborne adds a new dimension of player choice by letting you decide where every mission begins and how it plays out.

All versions of the game are out winter 2006, but it’s unclear if the PC game will be built on the current-gen or next-gen version. Expect more details later in the year.
