New World developer Amazon Games has announced its first expansion for its massive online RPG, which will be entitled Rise of the Angry Earth. The upcoming DLC will be released on October 3 and some of the exciting new features you can expect should make the in-game experience smoother than ever before.

Though many of the improvements in previous New World patch notes had been received positively by the game’s loyal community, the changes being introduced with this expansion dwarf those in comparison. This is because Rise of the Angry Earth will finally be adding mounts into the game, meaning you should have a much easier time traveling across Aeternum soon. Of course, since the theme of the expansion mostly revolves around nature’s wrath and taming it to the best of your abilities, you will also be given the chance to master dire wolves and lions as well throughout your adventure.

However, getting these creatures to join you on your saga won’t entirely be straightforward. Before you can use mounts and get animal companions to join you, you may need to take on the deadly Beast Lords beforehand. Based on the trailer released by Amazon Games, these hulking creatures are exactly what their name implies: powerful and sentient animals that watch over their lands to protect their kin. Based on one of the scenes shown, you’ll seemingly be faced with a minotaur-like adversary as well as an elephant with colossal tusks at one point, so you’ll need to be prepared ahead of time.

Much like any other expansion, though, these aren’t the only improvements that are being made to the Amazon Games-developed MMORPG.
