A new Tony Hawk game is in development at Activision, the publisher has announced.
“Activision can confirm that they have something in the works with Tony Hawk,” a representative told IGN, “more info is coming soon.”
Confirmation follows reports that a new Tony Hawk title was in the works after the skateboarding star announced that he was “working on a game” on his Demolition Radio show.
“We’re working on a game, we are working on a game,” he said, “it’s pretty cool.”
Besides 2012’s HD remake it has been four years since the last new Tony Hawk game, despite earlier games launching on a near annual basis. The series took a significant downturn with the arrival of Robomodo’s Tony Hawk: Ride in 2009, a motion controlled game that relied on the use of a skateboard peripheral.
It isn’t yet known which developer is behind the new game or which platforms it’s headed to.
