The Big N is looking to launch a revised version of the Switch during its 2019 fiscal year, which runs April 1, 2019 through March 31, 2020.

That's according to a new report in Japanese publication The Nikkei (via Game Informer), which claims that the new Switch could arrive on the market as early as summer this year.

As for the console itself, it's been suggested that Ninty will be offering a slimmer frame and improved battery, and that it will focus more on the handheld aspect of the machine.

Nintendo has traditionally offered revised versions of its handheld devices rather than traditional home consoles, with 3DS in particular seeing numerous incarnations over the years.

Switch is selling rather well as of late, topping 32 million units worldwide.
