Square Enix lifted the wraps off a dazzling new Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer at the D23 Expo in Japan over the weekend, offering a glimpse at one of the new worlds to feature in the highly anticipated Disney-flavoured RPG — Monsters Inc.
Here, we find heroes Sora, Donald, and Goofy all sporting a fresh makeover as they touch down in this bizarre new environment, which naturally includes appearances from Monsters Inc. icons Mike and Sulley.  Goofy’s alternate look in the trailer is frankly quite disturbing, and may have forever tainted our memories of the nice-but-dim Disney legend.Â
Elsewhere, we’re also treated to some fresh footage of the group teaming up with the Toy Story crew, as well as some more combat antics and what looks like a battle inside a bunch of giant tea cups.Â
Kingdom Hearts 3 is currently in development for PS4 and Xbox One and will launch at some point in 2018. The game was originally announced at E3 2013 during Sony’s press conference, and is the first numbered entry in the much-loved franchise in over a decade.
