Described as the first game of its type, M.A.C.H. (Modified Air Combat Heroes) from UK-based Kuju Entertainment will see players become outlaw pilots as they compete in deadly aerial contests of skill, speed and weaponry.

Set in a future world, governments now rely on unmanned aircraft to save lives, and as a result have decommissioned thousands of jets and their fighter pilots. Years after being decommissioned these planes begin to appear on the black market and give rise to an underground competition with wealthy hobbyists piloting decommissioned aircraft to win fame, glory and fortune.

The game features a number of modes designed to offer a variety of gameplay types to suit your situation, be that a game to kill ten minutes, or something that will keep you occupied for much longer.

Career mode will see players take part in a series of high-octane tournaments, progressing through the ranks from a Rookie all the way through to a combat Hero, on the way earning access to enemy planes and being rewarded with cash. This cash can then be used to upgrade plane capabilities – 180 configurations are possible across 11 planes.

Arcade mode is designed to offer easy access to the game, throwing players into the action as quickly as possible. You’ll begin the mode with only one plane at your disposal, but progress through the Career mode will unlock further planes to pilot.

The final single-player mode is Challenge. Here players must progress through a series of tiers, each consisting of five challenges: MACH Melée, MACH Dash, Time Check, MACH Lap and Dog Tag.

The game looks perfectly suited to multiplayer gaming and thankfully Kuju are providing wireless dogfighting and racing over an Ad hoc network. Even better is news is that the game supports Game Sharing, meaning only one copy of the game is required.

M.A.C.H. is scheduled for release exclusively for the PSP later this month in Japan and in February across the UK.
