Most interesting is news that the game will include a side brake (implemented by pressing the R1 button) and full clutch control, which is used by pressing the L1 button.

Another feature to set the game apart is the ‘Virtual Gravity System.’ An on screen display will tell you how much pressure your car is under. This is in the form of a ball, which moves from a central position, to show the strength and direction of the G-force.

In order to give the play full control, the on-screen-display is minimal, only showing absolutely vital information. The viewing area has also been widended to show when the car is accelerating or breaking. The screen will also shake when moving over bumpy surfaces.

The game will feature a mixture of real and fictitious circuits, including the world famous Nurburgring. The fictitious courses have been designed to offer the best racing experience.

New additions to the car list are new versions of the RX-7, 180SX and Imprezas are now included, while the Garaiya – an originally modelled sports car created by Japanese manufacturers, Autobacks, has also been fully recreated for the game.

Manabu Akita, the games producer, had this to say about the changes to the game: “Enthusia is always improving as it goes along, and the biggest change this time is showing an overview of all four tyres. You can now easily see the angle of the tyres, the grip and the traction, while the new ball system demonstrates the VGS far better than before. We hope that these additions show we are constantly striving to make Enthusia the definitive racing game to date.”

The game is due for release on PlayStation 2 in 2005.
