UPDATE: The game now appears to be back online along with a new 172mb update. Patch notes for the update have yet to be revealed.
ORIGINAL STORY: Need For Speed’s EA Access trial has been temporarily taken offline as EA prepares to… release the EA Access trial.
The trial went live on Xbox One yesterday afternoon, one day ahead of its anticipated launch, but players have been left unable to connect to the game’s servers this morning, preventing them from playing the game.
“We’re currently getting everything ready for EA Access, you will not be able to connect during this time,” EA wrote on Twitter. “Stay tuned for more updates!”
Need For Speed is an online-only title, meaning players are unable to play the game while the servers are down. It isn’t yet clear when the servers will be back online.
Need For Speed’s EA Access trial offers 10 hours of unrestricted access to the complete Xbox One game, allowing players to test it out ahead of its full release next week. The trial can be downloaded now from the Xbox Store.
A monthly EA Access subscription costs £3.99, with an annual subscription available for £19.99.
Need For Speed launches on Xbox One and PS4 next Thursday, November 5, with a PC version due to follow in spring 2016.
