Need for Speed: The Run has been shown running on the PlayStation 3 during EA’s E3 conference tonight. EA revealed that the game will feature on-foot sections for the first time in the series’ history and that Autolog, first introduced in Hot Pursuit, will be weaved into the single-player career.

The live stage demo took place in Chicago, Illinois and started in a car before the driver escaped on foot after a car crash. On-foot sections appear to be entirely Quick Time Event driven, with no control over the character by the player. As the character ran across a rooftop PS3 buttons popped up on screen that needed to be pressed.

Eventually the cops caught up with the character but another QTE enabled him to evade the cops and escape in a cop car. It wasn’t a simple escape, however, as a big crash left him on a rail-road track with a train bearing down on him. Another QTE and he was free.

Need for Speed: The Run is due for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 18.
