Criterion has released the first details about the PlayStation Vita version of its upcoming open-world racer Need For Speed: Most Wanted.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com last week, producer Matt Webster revealed that the PlayStation Vita version is “exactly the same game” as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, and features the “same big open-world… same cars… same Autolog features and the same competition”.

“We’re really, really thrilled with what we’ve managed to do on Vita,” he continued. “It’s coming along really well.”

Speed Points earned in the Vita version of the game can also be transferred across to other platforms, and vice-versa.

“The important thing is that any Speed Points that I earn on Vita or on console or PC or iOS or Android, everything is aggregated into the Most Wanted list, and that’s how you compete to be Most Wanted amongst your friends.”

There is one slight change between the Vita version and home console versions, however. On Vita, online play is restricted to 4-players, decidedly fewer than the 12-player option available on 360/PS3.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted launches on PlayStation Vita alongside Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions on November 2.
