NCsoft has opened Dungeon Runners to the public, for the first time making one of its MMOs free to play. The play-for-free tier enables players to access large chunks of the game’s content, while payment of $4.99 a month opens the entire game with access to the most powerful weapons, items and armour.

Dungeon Runners focuses on action and battles with limited death penalties and endless gold, weapons, armour and magic items available once monsters have been defeated.

There are a variety of characters to choose from including fighter, mage and ranger, although as a classless RPG players are not locked into skills that are usually associated with their specific archetype.

There are plenty of other ‘free’ games available for online RPG fans, but none that packs as many features as Dungeon Runners has or comes with the NCsoft stamp of quality. We expect that players will receive this game warmly because it is fast, fun and free. It is hard to beat that deal,” said Robert Garriott, CEO of NCsoft North America.

Those interested in Dungeon Runners should head over to the game’s official website for more information and details on how to get started.
