Naughty Dog has released a new behind-the-scenes video for the upcoming Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which is rather aptly titled The Making Of. In the video we see some new gameplay footage, the game’s cinematics, and the developers expand on the making of the game and why they’ve moved on from the series’ main protagonist Nathan Drake.

Creative director Shaun Escayg and game director Kurt Margenau discuss how they wanted to focus on new characters as they explored new stories in the Uncharted universe, because they felt that it could be about more than just the adventures of Nathan Drake. The developers also explain why they’ve decided to focus on Chloe and Nadine, rather than Sully and Sam as could have been expected.

This behind-the-scenes video gives us a look at more of the gameplay from the soon to be released The Lost Legacy and the decisions that were made for expanding the Uncharted universe. Where other Uncharted games explored a wide-range of locations, The Lost Legacy focuses on one specific region, and its underlying philosophy and culture.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is due to release for PS4 on August 22 in North America, and August 23 in the UK.
