The changes brought in with the arrival of MW2 Season 3 was supposed to represent a turning point for the current CoD installment. Instead, the community has become even more disappointed with the Activision latest FPS entry after the update only introduced insignificant changes to several important in-game elements.

Aside from the return of Gunfight and the addition of new guns to the MW2 Season 3 weapon list, major improvements were supposed to be made to the game’s movement mechanics and weapon TTK. Although these elements were indeed enhanced, several fans are noting that the updates made are minor and are barely noticeable.

CharlieIntel, one of the most trusted and well-known CoD news aggregators, has revealed in a post that there were discussions during a recent content creator call that led many of them to believe that more significant changes would happen than what transpired with the update. They were apparently told that there would be changes made to TTK, which merely ended up being regular weapon balance changes.

The developers also reportedly told several content creators that traversal would become more fluid and dynamic, but the improvements “ended up being extremely minor.” They were also originally informed that a mechanic allowing you to fire your weapon while sliding would be introduced with the third season. Unfortunately, this ended up being retracted in the end as it was apparently a miscommunication.

Because of Infinity Ward and Raven Software’s broken promises, CharlieIntel then goes on to inform their huge following that they “will not hype any aspect” of a patch up until “the update goes live and everyone gets to see the changes.”

These latest statements from a beloved community figure should be a wake-up call to the indifferent developers. With content creators now beginning to show distrust towards Infinity Ward and Raven Software, it may not be long before these influencers’ fans follow suit.
