Blazing Griffin has lifted the wraps off quirky kill-’em-all Murderous Pursuits, a game where your job is to amass a huge body count set against the backdrop of an alternate reality Victorian era.

Murderous Pursuits sees us plonked in a world where time travel is commonplace, and the arrival of a mysterious Mr. X inaugurates a mass killing spree for the ages. However, this epic game of cat and mouse is not just about landing the killing blow; players will also have to balance strategy and planning equally if they’re to succeed in winning X’s favour.

Set on a lavish flying ship named the HMCS Britannic, up to eight players find themselves in the midst of a host of innocent AI-controlled party-goers, before locating their assigned quarry and attempting to strike unseen. However, you also have to be on the lookout for others who may have murder in mind, as they could be looking to introduce you to the business end of a knife.

Fortunately, you have more than a few tricks up your blood-stained sleeves. For starters, you can keep a low profile by taking advantage of reactive environments, remaining in plain sight as you mimic your fellow party-goers. In addition, you can utilise a number of handy items, including disguises, flash bombs, counters, and more to give you the edge in your pursuit.

‘All this to say, players would do well to make sure their assassinations are discreet and anything but run-of-the-mill. Mr. X expects only the most exquisite of murderous acts. Whether it’s by seeking out high value death-dealing implements across the game’s lavish maps, or dancing over your quarry’s lifeless body, there’s nothing quite like the thrill of a well-executed execution,’ says the press blurb.

Murderous Pursuits is due for release exclusively on PC in March.
