There was certainly a strong showing of Kinect enabled titles during Microsoft’s E3 conference on Monday. A number of third-parties declared that they were committed to the motion sensing peripheral, but obviously Microsoft is still the biggest advocate of the technology.

In an interview with Gamespot, Microsoft Game Studios head, Phil Spencer, said that in the near future all first-party games would be utilising Kinect.

“It’s not a mandate that everything we do in first-party has to support Kinect right now,” said Spencer. “But I will say, specifically with voice, that there are some things that just seem to make navigating and playing games so much easier, that I would guess the answer will be yes in the end, that you’ll see all first-party games using some form of Kinect functionality.”

Many core gamers are yet to be won over by Kinect despite the more diversified showing of upcoming titles at E3 this year as opposed to Microsoft’s conference last year.

However, Spencer was keen to point out that they wont be turning established gameplay experiences on their head, but “using the advantages of what Kinect brings to make the experience better.”
