Evolution Studios and Sony have announced MotorStorm RC, an RC car racing spin-off from the MotorStorm series. The game will be coming to PlayStation Vita on its February 22 launch in the UK, as well as PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3.

A small team at Evolution has been working on the game for most of 2011, with game director Paul Rustchynsky claiming that MotorStorm RC is “a perfect combination of classic racing with really modern connectivity features”.

16 tracks will be included, based on the four locations found in the existing MotorStorm titles: MotorStorm (desert), MotorStorm: Pacific Rift (jungle), MotorStorm: Arctic Edge (icy tundra), and MotorStorm: Apocalypse (ruins of an urban city). Eight of the series’ vehicle classes will be included, albeit in micro RC form.

Gamers with a PlayStation 3 and Vita will be able to purchase once version and experience the title on both platforms, allowing them to play on one and then continue on the other.

No online play or local multiplayer is included in the Vita version (although the PS3 game includes four-player split-screen), but you are able to challenge friends and the rest of the world to compete for the fastest times in every event.
