The planned Mortal Kombat movie reboot from Warner Bros. will be made on a budget of between $40 million and $50 million, exec Lance Sloan revealed at the 2nd Annual Marseille Web Fest.

“The other thing that’s important to probably highlight is that we’re preparing right now for the featured film with … Kevin Tancharoen [who] directed the digital series for us.”

“Now he is at the helm of a forty, fifty million dollar feature film,” revealed Sloan.

In addition, Bloody Disgusting has dug up a possible plot for the new movie. The reboot is said to follow an unlucky supermarket employee who discovers he has otherworldly powers and must decide whether to fight for good or evil.
