Mortal Kombat for Xbox 360 and PS3 will be released at Midnight on Mortal Monday, April 18, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios have announced.
On PS3 the game will support 3D displays and include God of War’s Kratos as a playable character. The game is being developed by NetherRealm Studios, led by Mortal Kombat creator and creative director Ed Boon.
Releasing on Monday gives the game a full week in stores, giving it a greatly improved chance of coming out on top when the video game charts are published the following Monday. It’s likely to need it too, with Portal 2 hitting stores on Friday, April 22.
