More familiar faces are set to return to Mortal Kombat 1 as the latest Umgadi trailer showcased the addition of Li Mei, Tanya, and Baraka to the brutal beat âem upâs roster. However, these characters arenât the only ones making their way back into the unforgiving world of NetherRealm Studiosâ fighting game series as Darrius is also being re-introduced, though only as a Kameo fighter.
Now that these names are set to be added to the stable, the Mortal Kombat 1 characters list is starting to shape up nicely as a number of the characters involved havenât been a part of the primary cast in recent installments. But with the twelfth main line entryâs release date still relatively far off, this may not be the last character announcement we see in the near future.
Of course, the Mortal Kombat 1 Umgadi trailer didnât only give us a quick look at these characters and just faded to black afterwards. Naturally, the blood-soaked preview also showcased the myriad skills that each of these fighters will be able to use, which includes the gory fatalities they can execute when you donât want to show any mercy to your opponent.
Despite the latter part of the clip only showing viewers quick glances of these vividly violent moves, most of the commenters below the video predictably praised each one that was exhibited as kmqmisfits noted that âthese fatalities are just insanely creative, and this gameplay is amazing,â while fatbearstudios1379 simply said: â[Li Meiâs] fatality was absolutely mind-blowingâ â an apt description since Li Meiâs finisher sees her forcibly removing an enemyâs intestine and lighting it up like a fuse just to see their head explode immediately after.
Based on these reactions, itâs safe to say that the fighting game community is more than excited to get their hands on NetherRealm Studiosâ next grisly entry. While you wait for it to drop, though, we suggest checking out our guide on the Mortal Kombat 1 fatalities list so you know what moves to execute after you dominate a player in battle.
