Capcom’s Monster Hunter series has already notched up worldwide sales in excess of 2.4 million and is now set to continue its PSP offering with Monster Hunter Freedom 2. The first PSP game proved to be a huge hit in Japan and the recently released sequel looks on course to shatter its sales records.

The game doesn’t have such a massive following in PAL territories but its loyal fans will be pleased to hear that Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is planned for release in September 2007.

Building on Monster Hunter 2 for the PlayStation 2, Freedom 2 will contain 50% more content than the first game. Players will have to battle bloodthirsty creatures while on quests alone or in a party of four using the PSP’s wireless capabilities.

Characters are fully customisable and as players progress through the game they will gain new abilities, armour and weaponry. The game will also feature the ability to download new content and quests, expanding the life of the game.

September is quite a way off, but at least fans of the series now have confirmation that Freedom 2 is coming to PAL territories.
