A television ad for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been banned from broadcast on daytime TV.
The advert can now only be shown after 7:30pm, a watchdog has ruled, following complaints from two viewers deeming the advert to be inappropriate for daytime broadcast.
According to an ITV report, one viewer claimed that their two children, aged between two and four, had been “frightened by the advert”.
The TV ad shows a selection of scenarios taken from the game, including the destruction of buildings and war scenes.
Modern Warfare 3 launched in November last year. The game received an 18 certificate from the BBFC for “strong bloody battle violence”.
