Activision has officially confirmed that this year’s Call of Duty title will indeed be Modern Warfare 3 and it’s set for release in November.

The studio confirmed the news via a brief Twitter video revealing the game’s logo in red, pretty much confirming the artwork we had previously seen on the Monster cans. The video also confirmed the release date of the game for November 10.

We’ve not been given too much information just yet, of course – however we do have the voices of Task Force 141, and along with title means we’re certainly picking up the story right where last year’s Modern Warfare 2 left off. We also have confirmation that development will indeed be led by Sledgehammer Games for this year’s installment as the video was retweeted on their own Twitter account.

The news comes after several weeks of speculation and leaks – including the artwork appearing on promotional cans of an energy drink a couple of weeks before this official announcement. We’ll be getting more information on this year’s game in the coming days, as there’s also set to be an in-game event in Warzone that will help set the scene as part of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 5.

Stay tuned here on VideoGamer for all the information on Modern Warfare 3 as and when we get it. For now, feel free to start your speculation and hype engines. The Modern Warfare 3 release date arrives on November 10, 2023, with MW3 pre orders expected to start well before then.
