Have you been itching to try out Activision’s latest shoot ’em up but don’t want to spend on its premium price tag? The good news is, you don’t have to – as Activision has announced a second free weekend for MW3 to celebrate Season 2. The start date and time for the MW3 Season 2 free multiplayer weekend has been confirmed, and, during the trial, you will be able to try out several different maps, modes, and playlists, including the brand new map Stash House, the always-exciting Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed and brand new Team Gun Game mode, and, of course, Zombies.
Despite its controversies, Modern Warfare 3 is still one of the biggest and most commercially successful games of the year. Season 2 has now begun, adding as it does Warzone Resurgence into Ranked Play. Season 2 has also brought with it a Walking Dead crossover, with both Rick and Michonne from that series set to cameo as operators during the season.
So if you’re wondering when you can get your hands on the free weekend – wonder no more, here’s the info.
MW3 Season 2 free multiplayer weekend start date?
The start date for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 free weekend is February 8th. This is a trial available for all platforms, including the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X/S, and PC. It’s important to note that it’s for the multiplayer and Zombies portion of the game exclusively. You won’t have access to the MW3 campaign to see what happens to Captain Price and his comrades.
When does the MW3 Season 2 free multiplayer weekend start?
The start time for the MW3 free multiplayer weekend is 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET/ 5 PM GMT on February 8th. It is not listed on the PSN, Microsoft, or Steam stores as of writing, meaning there is no preload available. File sizes haven’t been shared and you will have to download it during launch hours.

When does the MW3 free multiplayer weekend end?
The MW3 free multiplayer weekend will end on February 12th at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 5 PM GMT. This means you will have four days to play through all of the maps and modes on offer throughout its duration, including the widely celebrated Zombies extraction mode. Of course, once the event ends and you haven’t had your fill of shoot ’em up action yet, you will need to head to your preferred gaming platform’s respective store to purchase the full game.
