Activision Blizzard, Infinity Ward and Raven Software have finally made a much sought-after map change in the latest Season 4 Reloaded update in Modern Warfare 2.

Those playing the Santa Sena Border Crossing, a map that’s drawn much anger from the community, should now be pleased to learn from the new patch notes that “The vehicles in Santa Seña Border Crossing will no longer explode. They can still be damaged, but cannot kill Players.” This has long been a bone of contention on the map, which takes place on a highway blocked off and filled with vehicles that had more of a propensity to explode than a bag of pre-heated popcorn. A well placed killstreak could easily wipe out half the map, and made for a frustrating experience.

It’s not the only new feature in the update of course, as Season 4 Reloaded will not only see Vondel play host to the traditional 75 player Battle Royale mode for the first time, but there’s also the long-requested addition of a map rotation feature for Resurgence. No longer will players have to wait several weeks or months to play on their favourite map, rather every 15 minutes on Resurgence Trios, the map will rotate between Ashika Island and Vondel.

As previously revealed, the Reloaded update will also welcome the world of Amazon TV show The Boys into Call of Duty. Not only are Starlight, Homelander and Black Noir available as Operators, but there’ll also be some new POIs on the map adorned with The Boys features. On top of that, look out for a new field upgrade that offers players superpowers, such as teleport, to help them turn the tide of battle.

There’s a whole heap to get stuck into when the MW2 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded start time kicks off later this evening. In the meantime, you can take a look through the extensive patch notes over on the Call of Duty website.
