One of the games we expected to see at E3 this year was Pikmin 3. After game designer Shigeru Miyamoto told everyone that Nintendo was working on a new game in the series at last year’s show, it seemed a cert that we’d at least get some solid info on the third game.

Speaking at a roundtable conference Miyamoto has apologised for the lack of new info on the game, pointing towards Nintendo’s many in-development games and the inability to increase the size of the dev team as reasons for the slow progress.

“I’m sorry,” Miaymoto said. “Unfortunately we haven’t been able to expand the team size very much, because we’ve been working on so many different games that we’ve shown off at the show. So the team is working very hard, but it’s a bit of a small team.”
