The 3DS has had a bumper sales week in Japan, with 73,933 units shifted – 20,000 more than it managed in the previous week. The sales increase was down to the release of the Misty Pink coloured handheld. PS3 came in second with 23,897 units sold, and the PSP third with 22,095.
On the software front the 3DS isn’t doing anywhere near as well, with Nintendogs + Cats shifting 7,980 units in 16th position. At No.1 in the chart is Macross F Hybrid Pack on the PS3, which moved 142,607 units in its debut week.
Titles popular in the UK which are doing well in Japan include Just Dance on Wii at No.4, Dead Island on PS3 at No.5, FIFA 12 on PS3 at No.6, Winning Eleven 2012 (PES 2012) on PS3 at No.7, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon on PS3 at No.8 and Dead Island on Xbox 360 at No.10.
