Mojang Studios is teaming with Sega to launch an official Sonic the Hedgehog DLC pack for Minecraft to celebrate the speedster’s 30th birthday.

As per the announcement on Minecraft.net the pack includes recreations of classic levels like Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant Zone. Naturally, the pack also includes skins for Sonic and his friends including Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow and even Dr Robotnik.

A special server event is also set to take place care of The Hive. The two-week event will include mini-games and “a few special surprises” with something special teased for one of the weekends. Those interested are advised to keep their eyes on the Minecraft Twitter account for more information.

It’s the latest in a long line of celebrations for the Blue Blur’s special milestone year, with Sonic Colours Ultimate also on the way in September followed by an all-new Sonic game scheduled for 2022.

Check out the trailer for the pack below. The Sonic the Hedgehog DLC is available now for Minecraft’s Bedrock Edition in the Marketplace on all the regular formats.
