Asobo Studio has dropped World Update 8 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, which gives a new refresh to the Iberian Peninsula.

For those of us not quite up-to-scratch with our geography, that’s the area covering south western Europe. Specifically, this update offers budding pilots even better views of Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar and Andorra. As par for the course with these world updates, there’s a ton of new landmarks, airports and more.

Players will be able to take in the sights of cities like Lisbon and Madrid with all new elevation data and aerial imagery. Over a hundred airports in the region have had their data improved, and there’s four brand new handcrafted airports too. There’s of course new photogrammetry, 99 custom points of interest, four bush trips, four new discovery flights and five new landing challenges too.

The update is free to all existing owners of the game. Head to the marketplace in-game to download it for yourself. Alternatively, if you play via the Cloud on Xbox Game Pass, you’ll be able to grab it without it taking up precious hard drive space too. You can check out the full list of patch notes over on the official website.

Finally, here’s the trailer for Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 8, which is available now. Microsoft Flight Simulator can be picked up on Xbox Series X|S and PC. We’re still expecting a Top Gun: Maverick expansion too, hopefully that will be along later this year.
