Rayman’s series creator Michel Ancel is quite the busy chap. Aside from working on the long-awaited Beyond Good & Evil sequel, he’s also working on prehistoric open-world adventure Wild. Despite his hectic workload, he’s still dreaming about making a successor to the 3D Rayman games.

In a recent Instagram post, Ancel wrote about ‘meeting Rayman in person,’ and posting a photograph of a statue of the limbless hero in a second-hand shop. Ancel bemoaned the fact that Rayman looked ‘far from his time of glory,’ and that he seemed to be ‘looking ahead for some help. Pathetic.’

Ancel also wrote that ‘after Wild, after BGE2, we’ll need to bring him back again… for his fourth adventure! Don’t let heroes die.’ So there you have it, Ancel wants to make it and doubtless there’ll be plenty of Rayman fans that would love to see a sequel happen.

As a fan of the original PlayStation version of the game I’d quite like to see what a 3D Rayman would turn out like. It’d certainly have a lot to live up to following on from the excellent 2D versions of Rayman that’ve been released over the past few years.

The last 3D Rayman game released was Rayman 3 HD which came out on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The Xbox 360 version is currently being given away for free as part of October’s Games with Gold promotion. Hurry though, it’s only available until October 15.
