Metro: Exodus has now gone gold and will launch a week earlier than initially confirmed, 4A Games and Deep Silver have announced.

The horror sequel was originally due to ship on February 22, 2019, the same day that Anthem is due to hit stores. Instead, Metro: Exodus will now arrive on February 15. This means it will be going toe-to-toe with another heavyweight instead of BioWare's loot shooter, namely Crackdown 3.

'Our fans have been waiting patiently for Metro Exodus ever since we announced the title at E3 2017,' commented Klemens Kundratitz, Deep Silver's CEO.

'We had previously delayed the release date to ensure 4A Games had the time to deliver their ambitious vision for the game, but now we're delighted to confirm that Metro Exodus has 'gone gold' and we are able to bring the release date forward to the 15th February 2019.'

Metro: Exodus is one of many games of recent memory that's getting a Collector's Edition, albeit without a copy of the game itself.
