Metal Gear Solid 4 remaster massively hinted at by Konami 

Hideo Kojima’s PS3 blockbuster Metal Gear Solid 4 may finally be escaping Sony’s aging system. Almost two decades since the game’s release, Konami is finally hinting at a proper Metal Gear Solid 4 remaster. 

Konami teases Metal Gear Solid 4 remaster 

With the Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta release date very much on people’s minds (It hasn’t been revealed yet, FYI), Konami is already looking to further exploit its iconic stealth game franchise. Following the release of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, Konami is heavily hinting at a follow up. 

While the collection offers a large host of titles, it doesn’t include the following games: Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid 5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. While unconfirmed, Konami is officially hinting that these games will receive new remasters for a second Master Collection. 

In an interview with IGN, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura teased that a Metal Gear Solid 4 remaster is in the works. However, nothing has technically been confirmed. 

“We definitely are aware of this situation with MGS4,” the producer explained. “Unfortunately we can’t really say too much at the moment with Vol. 1 containing MGS 1-3 dot dot dot… you can probably connect the dots!”

Konami is concerned about Metal Gear 

Despite sales of the Master Collection proving positive, Okamura explained that Konami still isn’t sure what to do with the Metal Gear series as a whole. 

While remakes and remasters seem to be the right move, it isn’t clear if a new game without Hideo Kojima is worth chasing. 

“Right now we still are internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series,” they said. “So sorry, we can’t really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!”

Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta launches later this year.
