Konami has announced that it is continuing themed events for Metal Gear Survive, with the latest one doffing its cap to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Kicking off on July 31, Metal Gear Survive's latest event allows you to obtain various items inspired by Solid Snake's 2008 swansong, including accessories, gestures, and nameplates for use in-game.

As always it's a co-op event, and you'll need to hoover up Battle Points in order to snag all the new gear. The event will run until August 14 at 5.59am BST.

Metal Gear Survive is a curious beast. It's the first major game in the stealth-action series to be made without Hideo Kojima (he departed Konami after the completion of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain), and takes place in an alternate timeline where players have to survive in a zombie-infested dimension.

The game actually didn't turn out too bad if you could separate yourself from the knowledge of what a Metal Gear game should be like, although it still largely sank without a trace from the UK charts.

Metal Gear Survive was released for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in February.
