Platinum Games’ Atsushi Inaba has revealed that the studio’s Metal Gear Rising is being developed with the PlayStation 3 as lead platform. A video released by Konami showed the game being played on Xbox 360, leading many to believe that Microsoft’s console was the lead platform.
“So, in closing, Metal Gear Rising’s lead platform is also PlayStation 3,” Inaba Tweeted
Platinum Games’ critically acclaimed Bayonetta wasn’t great on PlayStation 3 due to the fact that the game was developed by Platinum on the Xbox 360 with the PS3 port handled by an external studio. The studio’s second Xbox 360/PS3 project, Vanquish, was handled entirely by Platinum and the results were much better.
