Mega Man X Legacy Collection release date set

Retro blast-’em-up bundle Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 will be hitting PlayStation 4, PC, Switch, and Xbox One on July 24. 

Much like the Mega Man Collection, the compilation is split into two volumes: The first includes Mega Man X, Mega Man X 2, Mega Man X 3, and Mega Man X 4, while the second completes the set with Mega Man X’s 5, 6, 7, and 8. 

The Blue Bomber’s latest collection features plenty of bang for your buck. Aside from the X series, the set also includes game trailers, art work, and the scene-setting The Day of Σ video, which was originally packaged with Maverick Hunter X. Each game also includes its original soundtrack, plus a bunch of remixed and new tracks to tuck into.

In addition, all titles in the collection can be played in their original resolutions, and also feature the ability to apply extra smoothing techniques and tinker with CRT filters.

The Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 will be available to purchase digitally for $19.99 each, although US gamers will also be able to grab a physical console edition that features both volumes for $39.99.

Fans of the series may want to keep an eye out for the Switch version of Mega Man Legacy Collection, which launches next month.
