Capcom’s marking the 30th anniversary of Mega Man in style with the launch of Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 for the Nintendo Switch. Fans of the classics platform series will be able to pick up the bundles individually on the eShop or at retail as a double pack from May 22.

Mega Man Legacy Collection features six classic NES games to get you started, bringing with them all the retro-flavoured platforming goodness complete with the ability to create a save state anywhere you like. You can also rewind gameplay at any point, allowing you to brush up on those tough-as-nails sections that used to cause you headaches as a kid (unless of course you’re too young to have played them, in which case, thanks for making us feel old as s**t).

Also featured in the Mega Man Legacy Collection is a massive gallery packed full of art, songs, box shots, and a bunch of challenges set to test even the most hardened Mega Man fanatics. Those of you who have a regular or golden Mega Man amiibo can get their hands on some extra fan-made challenges to boot.

Next up, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 introduces us to the Blue Bomber’s 16-bit outings, kicking off with the SNES classic Mega Man 7 and taking us through to the retro revival years with Mega Man 9 and 10. Furthermore, both of these games feature all previously released DLC, and you can again use a Mega Man amiibo to unlock some extra challenges to tuck into.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 will set you back $39.99 at retail and comes complete with a special 30th anniversary cleaning cloth (note that Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is not on the card, but comes as a digital download). Individually, they’ll set you back $14.99 and $19.99 digitally for Collection 1 and 2, respectively.
