EA has announced that Medal of Honor Heroes 2, a sequel to last year’s PSP exclusive shooter, is to be released on PSP and Wii later this year.

The game begins on June 6, 1944. Players step into the boots of OSS Operative John Berg and must infiltrate Normandy from behind enemy lines to undermine the Nazi regime.

On both the Wii and PSP players will be able to experience a traditional single-player campaign or engage in massive, 32-player online battles which can be joined at any time.

The Wii version also fully supports the recently announced Wii Zapper peripheral – transforming the Wii-mote and Nunchuck into a light gun. This new controller configuration is utilised best in the game’s Wii only on-rails shooter mode. Here the game will be simplified: movement is handled by the game, with players only required to shoot the enemies.

Medal of Honor Heroes 2 is scheduled for release on Wii and PSP towards the end of the year.
